Technology Startup Veteran and Artificial Intelligence Pioneer Andy Hunn Joins DataTribe as Partner

Hunn Brings Product Strategy Expertise and Entrepreneurial Know-How to Cybersecurity Foundry Specializing in Working with Early Seed-Stage Companies
FULTON, Md., June 17 — DataTribe, the early-stage foundry that has launched multiple cybersecurity companies now at unicorn status or on the path there, is adding Andy Hunn as a partner. Hunn is co-founder and former chief operating officer of pioneering artificial intelligence (AI)-driven consumer intelligence platform Resonate. He brings more than three decades of experience as a serial entrepreneur and operator, with deep expertise in product strategy, go-to-market execution, and scaling technology companies.
Based in the Washington, D.C. area, Hunn led Resonate through tremendous growth with the company being acquired by private equity. Throughout his exemplary career, he has consistently built and led high-growth startups from inception to scale, including senior roles at other venture-backed companies across enterprise software and emerging technologies. Hunn has led companies through three successful exits including Cybertrust’s $500 million sale to Verizon Business. Hunn joins the DataTribe leadership team to identify the next generation of breakthrough companies as well as working with current portfolio companies that are evolving quickly in the new age of AI.
“Andy brings a rare blend of product insight, operational acumen, and go-to-market muscle that will be invaluable to the startups and founders we work with as he shares his wisdom and experience,” said Mike Janke, co-founder of DataTribe. “Many of the founders DataTribe works with are building their first company. What separates DataTribe from other foundries and venture capital firms is our deep partnership in guiding and mentoring founders as they navigate the steep challenges that come with building a company. Andy’s vision and technical prowess will be extremely valuable for our company roster.”
At DataTribe, Hunn will focus on helping portfolio companies refine product strategy, accelerate commercialization, and scale operations—particularly during the critical early stages of company-building. His hands-on experience leading both strategy and execution will support technical founders as they bring transformative ideas to market.
“I’ve spent my career building early-stage technology companies, and I’m excited to share the lessons I’ve learned with a new generation of entrepreneurs and innovators,” said Hunn. “DataTribe’s model of working side-by-side with founders at the earliest stages is uniquely powerful, and I’m looking forward to helping shape the next wave of cybersecurity and national security innovation.”
Hunn joins a team of seasoned investors, operators, and technologists at DataTribe. Earlier this year, the firm announced that Rob Joyce, former Cybersecurity Director at the National Security Agency, White House Cybersecurity Director, and acting Homeland Security Advisor under President Trump, joined the firm as a partner.
